Hypnotherapy is safe and you remain in control
admin | April 15, 2009Television hypnotherapists have a lot to answer for! All too often I have to reassure prospective clients about what clinical hypnotherapy involves – and, more to the point, what it doesn’t involve!
It’s important to recognise that during hypnotherapy you remain conscious, aware of everything that’s going on and fully in control at all times. You won’t – and can’t - be made to do anything against your will and the whole process is not only safe, but also very relaxing, uplifting and enjoyable. Clinical hypnotherapy is all about helping you and has nothing whatsoever to do with the type of hypnotism done for entertainment.
Hypnotherapy does involve guiding you through techniques which help you enter a state of ‘trance’, but this is no more than a deep state of relaxation during which your particular issue/condition can be addressed more successfully. You won’t fall asleep and can come out of trance immediately if you so choose.
So there’s really nothing to be nervous about as the entire session is all about you and your needs. For further information about what hypnotherapy involves, please visit the ‘What is Hypnotherapy’ page on this site. Thank you.
